Kobe Beef Menchi-katsu (Minced Beef Cutlet)

Menchi-katsu (Minced Beef Cutlet) is said to have originated in Kobe in the early Showa era, developed as an improvement on the Western-style "mince ball" (meatball).

Inspired by those origins, we have created a one-of-a-kind, luxurious Menchi-katsu in a compact mince-ball shape, using only the finest Kobe beef. The seasoning is kept simple to let the natural richness of the meat take center stage, delivering a deeply satisfying, meaty bite.

The smaller size makes them easy to fry at home.

This is my second time ordering the croquettes. They are absolutely wonderful. Far better than the popular croquettes you find at department store food halls — in our house, Tatsuya is our go-to for frozen croquettes.
As for the minced meat cutlets, the breading was a bit hard. The minced meat itself tasted great, but I wish the portions were a little bigger...

Kobe beef hamburg steak and minced meat cutlets — these were exactly what I'd been craving, and the price was very reasonable.

How do I cook the croquettes?

Deep-fry from frozen at 170-180°C for about 5 minutes. Do NOT thaw before frying — they may burst. Microwave cooking is not recommended.

How do I heat the tsukudani/shigure-ni?

Heat the pouch in boiling water for 3-5 minutes, or transfer to a dish and microwave.

What is the shelf life and storage method?
