Vacuum pack x quick freezing = more than 1 year! ?
Recently, we have received a request from our customers that they would like us to sell frozen vacuum-packed Kobe beef.
In fact, vacuum-packed and frozen block meat is the strongest long-term preservation method, as it can be stored for over a year at -20°C or below. Vacuum packing prevents oxidation, and freezing stops the action of microorganisms, bacteria, and enzymes.
As a recent example, we had a customer bring a block of Kobe beef as a souvenir from Kobe to Hokkaido (about 10 hours!).
At our store, our products are usually prepared as "refrigerated", but we also provide services such as freezing, vacuum packing, and ice packs according to customer's request.
It seems that the previous customer was always moving in room temperature, but it seems that he was able to enjoy the quality as it was, although it had been thawed a little when it arrived.
Frozen meat can last up to 10 hours, depending on how it is transported, the temperature, and the type of product . However, if it is at room temperature while being carried, it cannot be kept in a "frozen" state and will be in a half-thawed state. By the way, the case of "vacuum packing and freezing" mentioned earlier was a souvenir for Hokkaido, but recently we have received many inquiries from customers who want to take it overseas. As a specialty store, we are very honored to receive a request to sell Kobe beef, the world's most famous brand of beef, as a souvenir from Japan.
However, as of October 9, 2015, first of all, we do not allow "direct shipping" from our store to overseas.
Since 2012, Kobe beef has been exported to countries such as Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, the United States, and the United Kingdom, not for personal use but for commercial use. However, when individuals ship beef overseas or bring it in as baggage, it seems that after confirming the acceptance of the destination country, they must prepare the prescribed documents and undergo animal quarantine.
